The Conservation of energy in Physics is explained by stating that no matter what throughout a process the amount of energy stays the same. There is what is called a system of energy and within this system is the total amount of kinetic and potential energy. and at all times when the kinetic energy is the highest potential energy is the lowest and vise verse. But at all times the amount of both added together are always the same.
In baseball after a batter hits the ball, which exerts a powerful force sending the ball into the air, it shoots up and has a lot of kinetic energy and very little potential energy. But as it reaches the top of its flight path the ball's kinetic energy goes down and the potential rises all the way until the ball reaches the peak of its path and then the kinetic energy continues to increase as the potential decreases until it hits the ground.
1. When will the ball have the most potential energy?
When it is at the top of its flight
2. How much potential energy will it have at a point in time where it has a hieght of 15 and a mass of 15g? (PE=mgh)
